What is this? The search page allows the user a quick means to find the most interesting content as defined by them! Like most search functions, the search engine returns content that uses the word or term that the user specifies. Most interestingly, however, the BigTreetop search summarizes where the search terms were used so the user can see who's saying what and where.

For instance, if the user searches for "organic food" within Talk posts, they might find that 50 mentions are returned. On the same page, they could see that 20 of the mentions came from the local fruit center while and five users made up the bulk of the comments! They could now go to these sites to review the mentions or to interact with the organizations or people.

How do I do it? (All Users - Logged In or Anonymous)

1. The Search page requires the user to specify a location, a focused area of content, a search term, and a sort order. Defaults are in place for all four areas so you can simply hit the orange Search button and get a result set. You just need to be careful to understand what you have found!

2. Please note that the result set is returned on the right hand side of the page. You can view this result set and click on an item to be brought to the exact item.

3. You can also view the Related Organizations and People that were associated with the mention. This information is listed below the map. For all of the Focus areas that are content related (Blog, Bookmark, Promotion, Ideas, and Talk), you will see a list of Organizations listed descending by most mentions followed by a similar showing of People.

Tips: Navigation - Please NOTE that you can always access the Search and Buzzboard pages from the topmost navigation menu from anywhere within BigTreetop. This is an anchor that often comes in handy when navigating the site.

Personal Treetop content - Personal Treetop content is excluded by default. By unchecking the "Hide Personal Treetop Content", you can return both Organizational and Personal Treetop content.
