What is this? A blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is an online collection of one's thoughts. Blog posts are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order - with the most recent post at the top of the list. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject.

In the case of an organizational Treetop, the blog could be a running commentary that elaborates on the specific domain area of the business. For instance, for a shoe store, it could be the latest footwear fashions or even the best way to take care of various types of shoes. It might even be a running inventory of shoes that movie stars are caught wearing in public!

How do I do it? (Admins only)

1. Make sure that you are logged in and then locate the "+Add Blog Post" text on the right hand side of the screen. Click it to open the Blog Input area. If you click the "+Add Blog Post" again, it will collapse the Blog Input area.

2. There are five fields to fill in: the title of your blog post, the post itself, an image to be placed in the upper left hand corner, tags or key words that might help someone to search for the post, and a checkbox to publish this post or to keep it as a draft ( checkbox symbol) that only Admins of the Treetop can see. Fill these out (see Tips below for help with the Post box).

3. Hit the button (save, save and close, or cancel) of the action you wish to perform.

4. You are done. Now you can view your Blog post either as a published post or as a draft post using this subpage. The most recent published blog posts will show up on the "Treetop Home" page of your Treetop. You can always "Edit" or even "Remove" a blog post if you need to do so. Remember that people may have already viewed a published post so be especially careful when editing or deleting things that you have posted - unless it's really needed.

Tips: Post field - There are several formatting options and one web linking option in the Post box. You should try out the formatting options and save them to a draft post to get a sense for what you can do. Likewise, if you highlight some text in the Post box and then hit the little "chain" icon, you can create a link so this text will open a window to another web URL!
